Abstract

In his new book, Australian academic Richard Hindmarsh argues that the social and political landscape of nuclear power development in Japan significantly contributed to the March 2011 Fukushima- Daiichi accident. In an interview with NucNet, Dr Hindmarsh also discusses what he sees as flawed disaster management at the plant, and the political, technical, and social reactions as the accident unfolded.
