ABSTRACT
Low temperature magnetic structure of Sr substituted NdCrO3 has been investigated using neutron diffraction in the temperature range of 2–300K. We carried out a low temperature magnetization study in the temperature range 5–300K. The Rietveld analysis of neutron diffraction patternsled us to conclude that the Crmoment shave a Gy type of alignment of spins while the Nd moments align in a Cz type fashion for all three samples. The weighted average Cr3+/4+ ions moments were3.19(7),2.77(3) and 2.57(7) μB close to its theoretical Cr3+ moment value namely 3μB at 2K for the x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 samples respectively. While the Nd3+ moments for the three samples at 2K were 3.0(1), 2.39(8) and 2.2(2), respectively.
