Polycrystalline GdFeO₃ was prepared using conventional solid state reaction method. Magnetization studies at low temperatures show antiferromagnetic ordering of Gd moments at ~2.5K. Saturation in magnetization is noted at 2K under moderate magnetic fields, a result hitherto unreported. We conjecture that such a saturation is indicative of weakening of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction between Gd and Fe sublattices.
