The distribution coefficient (K_d) values are used in determining the fate of radionuclide behavior in marine environment. The paper presents the results of the variation in the distribution coefficient (K_d), in field condition. The geometric mean of K_d for cesium and radium along west coast was 2.5 x 10³ and 3.5 x 10³, along south coast 2.2 x 10² and 2.1 x 10⁴ and along east coast 2.3 x 10³ and 1.4 x 10⁴ respectively. Higher K_d value of ¹³⁷Cs was observed in west coast while, minimum K_d was observed in the south coast. Higher radium K_d at few locations reflects existence of high deposits of Th and U bearing sediments.
