ABSTRACT

The magnetic and optical properties of 19.1 SiO2-(34.6-x) CaO-27.03 P2O5-16.22Fe2O3-2.07ZnO-xHAuCl4 (where x = 1, 2 and 4 wt %) glass-ceramics have been studied. The increase of Au content leads to increase in magnetite phase. The microstructure exhibits the formation of nano size particles, which forms an assembly of particles at higher Au content (x=4 wt%). UV-Vis spectra have shown the absorption is decreasing in both UV and visible region. Magnetic properties measurement has shown an increase in saturation magnetization and coercive field with an increase in Au content.
