ABSTRACT
The single comparator (ka) instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) was employed to determine the elemental composition of soil from the north-western region of India. The radiometric assay was carried out using high resolution gamma-ray spectrometry. Seventeen elements were detected including selenium whose concentration was found to be in the range of 1.02 to 6.79 μ/g.
