High level liquid waste (HLLW) transfer from Plutonium plant to Waste Immobilization Plant IS carried out
directly, without intermediate storage tanks, through a new transfer route laid. This paper details the shielding computations carried out for the new MS shielded line and the modified diversion chamber, through which this line passes and the radiological surveillance during such transfers. Calculations were carried out with conservative assumptions and by using MCNP4a and GUI2QAD-3D codes. The computed values were in good agreement with the measured values during transfer
of HLLW from the plant.
